Flowers, nice scents, sweet things, and everything good… if only

It clicked sometime last year that I am ACTUALLY delulu and I am fine with that. I want everything to be well all the time and can’t deal with sadness in any way. That’s why I only watch romantic comedies. I have been watching one for a while now; A Journey to Love. Suddenly, when I got to a scene in episode 30, I noticed that the once firm and bold character of Ren Ruyi started smiling more than she typically would, and my “sad ending” radar went off.

I proceeded to Google with my default query when I have such suspicion; “Does ~movie name~ have a happy ending”? To my disappointment, A Journey to Love not only had a sad ending for the lead characters, my favourite supporting characters were also met with a tragic fate. While reading all sorts of summaries and review about the drama, I pieced together how the story unfolded. As I read on, a fragment of the sadness I would have felt, had I continued to watch the drama, enveloped me. Even while relieved that I did not get to witness the troubles  and fatality my characters faced, I still mourned what I “heard” happened to them.  My heart is broken.

No, I refuse to acknowledge that not everything can have a happy ending.
